xbox mod duo x 2 question !
 

Is this a good chip for an x box ? or can i get a better one ? what are the pros and cons to this unit ?

I have installed quite a few of these chips now and haven't had any problems. They are quite simple to install and easy to operate. The main feature that I like is the fact that you boot the xbox with the chip enabled by pressing the power button and boot the xbox with the chip disabled by pressing the eject button as opposed to other cheap mods that require you to hold the power button down for a couple of seconds to get the chip going. The duo x2 way allows for the installation of a reset switch in your controller (again, quite simple to do - check xbox-scene.com) so you don't have to get off the couch when you want to change the game your playing off your hdd. Quite appealing for couch potatoes like myself ;) .
All in all, a pretty good all round cheap mod. Hope this helps.

I also believe that the duox is the best cheapmod out. Most only have 1 256k flash, that one has a 1mb flash. Basically, it not only supports multiple bios, but also will support most of the newest bios. For example, the newest x2 bios have a 512k minimim size. Most cheap mods can't use them.

EDIT: actually, i just read that the newest x2 bios won't work with the chip. Never the less, it is still a good choice at that expense.

awsome i will get one ! one last thing.... why would i want to update the bios on this chip ?

You can change the color of the x logo, change the dashboard to boot without renaming. Some have protections against logging onto xbl with the chip on...etc

If you want to upgrad to a bigger hdd, you might also want to edit the bios.

I got a Duox2, So far no problems at all. Like Quall said, its hard to beat for the price.

when the mod is installed how can i play my back up online.

you can't, unless it is on xbconnect or xlink.

They are tunneling programs that run on your PC. Basically, they take advantage of that "system link" option in xbox games, where you can hook multiple xbox's up together and play. These apps allow you to do that over the internet. It's not really xbox live and may be laggy depending on the host, but it is a free solution.

Uhh.. I just installed a white DuoX2 and Installed the latest Xecutor2 bios on it without problems. Is there something that shouldn't have worked?

Do the blue DuoX2's not have enough memory?

really? hmm, well, people have reported that the chip does not boot to the 5032 bios. Team xecuter even stated that it was do to the chip design, not the bios. If it works for you then great, you somehow beat the odds. I don't thin kyou should worry about anything if it works.
