If im not mistaken there is an official game update to v1.03 and i know that GCW is hosting the version 1.03 fixed exe so im wondering why you want 1.0b nocd crack ? (or am i missing something here?)

DABhand 27-04-2005 05:48

Sometimes people wont update their game if the game is working good for them.

Its a good thing, so he obviously doesnt want to possibly hurt his game.

Thats why things like Steam etc is bad, and ive always said this, cause with automatic updating you dont have a say, and a latest update could in turn cause problems you didnt have while its great for other machines.

So I hope they go back to manual updates.

coffin filler 27-04-2005 06:33

Yes i agree in theory with you and manual updating is the way it should continue to be and the consumer shouldnt be forced down the auto update route. I to hate steam and many of its designs. However in some cases an update is more aimed @ the multiplayer side of things and so i guess if your wanting to play through the single player game and dont intend to go online then why update if its running perfectly ?. (in my experience of manual updating i have to say that many times i to dont bother to update a game if its running fine as im an avid single player the majority of the time). Auto updating isnt the way forward. Lets face it to in that some times an update can cause more problems with a game thats running ok untill an update is applied.

To answer coffin filler:

teebee is requesting for SW: KOTOR 2

1.03 is for the first one.

I myself was trying to find the no cd and was getting confused.

To answer teebee:

I updated to 1.01b last night and just used the no cd for 1.00 and have had absolutely no problems.

G0li4th 27-04-2005 11:15

I too am waiting for a no-cd fix for this ... but i rather they wait 1-2 more weeks for the next patch witch ( obsidian says ) will add high res movies and some more fixes

azgold10:
because most of the fixex were done inside the executable itself ... ( note old original exe is ~ 6 mb ... new one is ~ 13 mb )

Hmmmm cough splutter cough :o
being able to run the game with an old crack for updated game means you wont get all the benifits from the update. (if any @ all)

How sure are you? Some people say the fix and the patch having nothing to do with each other, which means there will never be a new fix as the old is working fine.

Do you have any more explanation to shed more light on this issue? Thanks in advance.

Ok basicaly what i mean was this = When a update for a game is released there are also (sometimes) updates made within the game exe etc and so being able to play a "updated" game with an older version nocd can mean simpley the player will not benifit from all (if any) of the updates done within the game. It depends which files, dll's etc are modified of course.(which is why it may be correct that the updates do work with this game but i cant say for sure as i dont own this perticular game) For example lets say we are playing a game that is updated to v1.2 but we are using a nocd for v1.0 even though the game "may" still run with the v1.0 nocd the updates wont take effect (depending on which files etc are changed). Hope that makes it more straight forward for you. (you may have problems online when playing with a lower version nocd as there are sometimes many multiplayer fixes done with game updates that wont take effect when using lower version nocd. (thats why ppl use the same version crack to what the game is updated to). In short it all depends on the game and whats updated in it. There are many games that the player dose benifit from the update even though he/she is using a lower version nocd

And there is updates made to the exe file in this patch. In fact the size of the exe file increases to about 12megs in size. So yes, if you play with an older no-cd exe you will be missing some of the updates.

True, I found out as well that many changes were done on the exe file itself, so a new no-cd crack by logic is needed.

bluesdealer 29-04-2005 14:25

So, is there any chance of this crack being made? I've been told that the patch is Securom 7 while the original is Securom 5, but Securom 7 has recently been cracked, right?

Arkanius 30-04-2005 03:31

Ive been waiting for the crack the day the patch was released... and I still wait :o

dederon 01-05-2005 11:57

How to copy kotor II with Securom emulation?
