Make a protected DVD backup
Hi all,
Since the search doesn't allow "1:1" and "dvd" as keyworks, since they are regarded as too common, I can't find out if this has been asked before (probably it has, but I can't find it... :o ) How can I make a 1:1 backup of a game that comes in a DVD? I've read several guides on how to make a 1:1 backup of games, but those guides refer to games distributed in CD. I want to make a backup of a game DVD, and I want the backup to be protected just like the original. Any links please? -- John |
use dvd decrypter

How about a tutorial on this fantastic claim! |
If I'm not mistaken, DVD Decrypter helps with backing up DVD _movies_, not DVD _games_. Also, there's no need to search for backup tutorials as they are listed right away in one of the forum stickies: http://fileforums.com/showthread.php?t=54353 .

DVD-Decryptor was able to remove certain protections on DVD's from earlier PS2 and XBOX games, but dunno if it still can, I doubt it though :P

i have finish makeing buckup of midnight club 3, god of war,jax 3 all with dvd decrypter and they all work fine so i can confriom this i know they are all ps2 game but i also made a splinter cell backup and it installs perfect it just doesn't get all around the protection but it does install perfect so if u have a game dvd I i would use dvd decrypter to make a copy if you are having problem with another program it does work turst me

jgdsl, the fact that a PC game installs itself correctly means nothing: the copy protection will kick in as soon as you try to _play_ it. DVD Decrypter only decrypts CSS (region protection for movies - and, as you say, apparently, PS2 DVD games, too), but it cannot help with duplicating today's commercial PC copy protections: SecuROM, Starforce, etc. So, please, don't talk nonsense!
