Ripping Gamecube Games
Hi, I am familiar with the "broadband adapter wi/ phatasy star" method of backing up games, but is there and way of backing up games with the Viper Mod Chip parallel port?- or with one of them memory cards that have usb connections? If not, then do you think there wil be?
|
At the moment i use the soft mod Gcos 1.4 via a AR+MC and backup my originals that way. If you not already know, Gcos uses a hacked cobra bios, which is used on the Viper chip.

could you give a little more informaion please? or point me to a guide on this method? also whats "AR+MC"
|
AR+MC means Action Replay and Memory Card (Official Nintendo). Dont use 3rd party ones.
With GCOS (Gamecube Operating System) you dont need a modchip to play backups. You copy the Gcos files to the memory card via the BB adapter. Then use the AR to boot the files from the MC in Slot 2. Choose Game backup and swap the AR disc for your Backup when prompted. At the moment Gcos is at version 1.4 using Cobra bios 0.4. Cobra have just released 1.1. and Gcos 1.5 and possible 1.6 is in the works. goto www.maxconsole.com and check the forums there, as there is loads of info. Mods it's okay to post a link to this site? |
ah thanks but im looking for a way where you dont need the bb adapter. just the parallel port on the Viper or something
|
parallel port on viper is too slow and will take you years to rip it. only good way to rip it is the bba way.

Sorry to ask the question, at this point i own neither a BBA or Action replay, or P.O.S ... As usual, the kids are slowly destroying the original game disks ... |
Yes you have to make the Network settings first via PSO.
