Brother in Arms 1.2 NO-CD patch not working, help?

Hey, thanks for taking the time to help. I have Brother in Arms and since I'm moving between houses, all my game CDs and DVDs are packed away and it's a hassle to get them out. Can you help me here?

I have the Brothers in Arms 1.02 patch applied (1.03 won't complete the patching process), and the NO-CD patch from this site works...to an extent. It gets to the splash screen, and then just stops and exits. I'm using both the 'NO-CD' patch found on GCW and the exe which patches the exe found on ***. I can uninstall and run the 1.00 patch, which doesn't work so that's out of the picture. Anyone else have a similair problem?

I have an ISO of the DVD on my HD (I made it for a lot of my more common games) and when I mount it, the game doesn't detect the mounted drive (along with most of my games, in fact, I've never been able to use an ISO, mount it with Daemon Tools and run the game and have the game detect it in the virtual drive. :( I'm using E:/, the lowest drive possible via Daemon Tools (A:/ is taken, C:/ is HD, D:/ is physical DVD Drive, etc.) ).

Once again, thanks for the help (sorry to have my 1st post be a request/help post :o ).

Hi NINJ4,

I never tested the 1.02 no-CD patch because I applied the 1.03 update right away and the 1.03 no-CD patch definitely works!

If you're having problems with applying the 1.03 update, you might wanna contact the game publisher/manufacturer or send a post to the official game support forum. In either case, make sure to describe the updating problem much more precisely than "[it] won't complete the patching process"... Good luck,

Joe

The reason I think the 1.03 patch wont install is because of the cracked exe for 1.02 is in his game folder instead of the patch exe.

I did exactly the same.

Thanks for the help, I broke my arm today, so this is on one handed typing. ^_^

It [the update to 1.03] goes past the bia.exe patch (I kept the original as a .BAK in another folder and return it to the System folder whenever I run the update). It completes the official 1.03 patch until it reaches a file called biainstall.ini. It says that the old file is there but the contents do no match.

Once again, thanks.

Some games will "not care" what cd the game is in .. so you will have to reinstall from the image..
furthermore .. some games want to be in the "first" drive letter of a non HDD.
re-arrange your letters so that you physical CDROM drive is E and the virtual drive is D..
this will mess up all of your games though..

by the way.. you should post this in general gaming..

Hi guys,

I ran the 1.03 update onto the original game, version 1.00. Could it be possible that the 1.03 update is unable to update version 1.02 properly?! You might wanna check out the official game support forum; perhaps, this is already a known mistake...(?)

no probs on my side too. try using it on completely clean install (or copy the following file from the dvd - i think the files are uncompressed)
