Burning Resident Evil3

Hi,

I'm trying to burn Resident Evil 3. And, yes, I've done some research including searching this forum. Two things I got of out this forum is this:
1. apply the patch
2. burn at slow speed
I have v7 PS2 with Matrix Infinity. I'm burning with Alcohol 120%. I've tried burning at low speed(X4), but I ended up with another coaster.(Got 3 so far)
Now, the only option I can think of is the patch although some claimed that they didn't need it. But, the problem is that I can't find the patch. Most threads point to megagames.com fo the patch, but fllow this link:
http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_patches_r_2.shtml
Although you see many patches for RE3, there's no protection patch for US version, which I'm trying to burn. The only US patches are these:
Resident Evil 3 +13 Trainer & PAL/NTSC Selector
Resident Evil 3 +5 Trainer & PAL/NTSC Selector

I'm not sure what they do. So,here are the questions:
1. Where can I find US patch for protection fix?
2. Can I use one of the two patches above instead?( If yes, which one? I don't know what the difference is between the two)
3. Is there anything else I can do to resaolve this?

Thank you so much.

resident evil 3 has no protection just copy it with alcohol 120% and it should work

Well, I tried 3 times. They all hang at PS logo.

Thanks

I'm using Taiyo Yuden CD-R. Aren't they supposed to be one of the better ones? Should I try cheaper CD-Rs? I did hear that for CD-Rs, the quality doesn't matter as much as DVD-Rs.

Thanks

Using Verbatim DataLife Plus, which is supposedly the best CD-R medium out there, I was finally able to create a backup disc that loads, but what happens is that the screen shakes like crazy. I've seen this happenning with another CD-R backup. (Samurai Spirits Zero) What could cause this? And, more importantly how do I fix this?
Some CD-R backups that I created using the exact same setup worked OK.
As for Samurai Spirits, it shakes on most screens but works OK on some screens.

Thank you

sounds like your playing a pal game on an ntsc system, does the original shake as well?

I'm sure they are not Pal games.
Samurai Sprits is NTSC J game, and Resident Evil is NTSC US. If Resident Evil were Pal game, I would have needed protection patch, right?

Hi, you could try this. I found a couple of games that I hav big trouble backing up which weren't protected but proved to be a pain in the ass all the same.

I seem to remember that one of the GT2 CD's and final doom were in the group.

I used BlindWrite Suite to make a cdrwin compatible image and then cdrwin to burn the image back slowly. This seemed to work where other progs failed. Can't seem to remember any problem with backing up resi evil 3 thoiugh (shrug) give it a try.

Hi,

I finally figured out the problem. What was happenning was that I was using component cable, and I was using HD mode to enable progressive scan mode(supported by a few games). But, I guess some games don't work properly in this mode. When I pluged component cables in regular component input and played in one of the normal video input mode, it worked fine. Thank you for your help.
