Gt4

Hey guys gt4 comes out tomoz in the uk. I wanted to know if its any good? also is there anyway to burn it to dvd5?

lufcfan 08-03-2005 12:13

Are you even sure the PAL is DVD9?

Remember what happened with concept:
PAL = DVD5 / NTSC = DVD9

seaneyb2003 08-03-2005 12:46

gt4

i got the gt4 today and yes it is too big to go on a normal dvd so i used a dual layer dvd i managed to copy it using stomp record now max but when i put it in the ps 2 i get the 1st screen up then it goes black and then nothing else has anybody got any ideas

Skelaratus 09-03-2005 12:56

Oh my gosh...I really wish people would do a search first.. ok, unlike Xenosaga 2 which CAN be backed up on dual layer dvd-r's, GT4 is also copyprotected in addition to being dual layered. No such fixes yet.

Can we sticky this please because I swear there is a "How can I back up GT4?" post every day.

lufcfan 09-03-2005 13:39

It's not really copy protection in the strictest sense of the word. It's basically a PTP write strategy used on the second layer, which many softwares and burners cannot replicate...

seaneyb2003 09-03-2005 14:03

yeh ive been reading up on this, its just a lack of technology which current dvd writers havent been able to do. All that needs to be done is a patch to change this or even compress the dvd.

Skelaratus 09-03-2005 14:26

Exactly, kind of like a new feature that can't be handled by current DVD writers. Regardless, someone should sticky this so people can stop posting the same question every day regarding GT4.

for all we know, the pal version doesnt have that on the disks

u never know....anyone able to verify???

TylerDurden 09-03-2005 16:28

I think the AO9 has PTP burning abilities. Look in the specs of the drive.

doesn't the media have to be PTP also? because all the dvd9 media at meritline says the media is OPT

TylerDurden 09-03-2005 18:42

Hell if I know. :p I have an AO7.
