PS2 HDD questions
Maybe someone can answer some questions for me about the PS2 HDD. First of all, what im trying to do is find a HD for my PS2 that I can put music onto, I want to turn my PS2 into a jukebox. Do I need a specific HDD? Is what im trying to do even possible? What software will I need to put music onto the HDD?

I may be wrong but i dont think its possible.

Couldnt you just make an mp3 dvd or wav dvd. Then just play that in the ps2? Hella songs and theyre removable.

Yes. You're thinking of Black Rhino Linux - but I aren't sure how it works :o :

Ok here is a dumb question, why do you need a network adapter for the PS2 HDD? Does the HDD connect the network adapter and then to the PS2? Does anyone know where I can get the Linux kit, where ever I go it says its not available in North America. And to clairify, I am a newbee. Im starting to get into all the PS2 stuff and am looking for answers. Thanks for the help so far :)

The Network Adapter has the IDE connection on it, so you can plug the HDD into the console. So it goes like this:
IDE HDD > Network Adapter > PS2 Console Expansion Bay :) |
OK,i´m already a newbie on this sektion but not dumb at all... Ive had connected my HDD with the network kit in my PS2 an dump the Games via HDL on it .. .so , well, but how can i connect the ps2 via ftp with my pc , so i can push the images directly on the PS2? How , or with which soft can i adjust the IP Adress from my baby ?
BIG Thnx for answerin ´ ... |
Waste
First off, just give your Ps2 to someone who knows what to do with it, or sell it at a yard sale and use the money to buy a "home stereo system". I'd be more supportive of someone using their Ps2 as a means to heat a frozen TV dinner.
Second, a Linux kit? Again, see previous TV dinner comment. Third, (this one is actually helpful), I've read the hdadvance 3 can be used to transfer games onto your Ps2's hard drive via the network adapter from your computer provided you have the ethernet cable and network card. The only version I've seen for sale at the moment is the PAL format though. But honestly a jukebox? Go buy an Xbox, buy a modchip, flash the bios, reload the OS, and make a jukebox. |
Or just download PS2Reality mediaplayer for PS2 :D
