yah, i received mine a couple days ago.

Fortunately, I saved my xbox 2 years ago when the symptons first started. You can help prevent the problem by checking under your PSU, where the power cord socket attached to the PSU. The solder which attaches it tends to crack.

The power cord won't save your PSU, but will prevent fires. I advise getting it as well.

There is really no need to get this replacement..
You see the problem is not the cord but the powersupply itself (one special brand of PSU's with 2 badly soldered points).
The new cable will only have a little switch that will hit if the PSU get shortened out.
If you have a 1.2-1.6 xbox you will recieve one powercord that is excactly like the one you already have.

1.0 and 1.1 may be "allowed" to get the new cord. But I see no use for it, that new cable is ugly and big and all that.

And with the new cable, even if it happens something with the PSU it will ruin your xbox anyway. The only thing prevented is that you won't get a shock or your xbox won't start burning or so.
So sure, to be on the safe side, go get one. I won't.

That will (hopefully) clarifie some things.
