Wow&lineageII

Hello, Can i play lineage or lineageII offline?
Also world of warcraft?

BarryB 24-02-2005 07:27

??

These are ONLINE games DESIGNED to be played ONLINE as there is no Single Player mode built in.

There is no point buying these games unless you are going to play them over the internet and like the idea of buying games where you have to keep paying to play them.

I have willingly stopped (for a week now) playing wow (after being a lvl32) and yes, you'd think WOW could be played offline (if you downloaded the whole realm) cause 90% of it is solo-able.

The next step is cancelling my account, which I don't have enough willpower to do.

There are now 2 cracks that allow you to play WoW offline! From testing it I can say that it's a bit flakey though. Not all of the NPC are there and your Armor is way off.

lol

15 dollars a month is seriously nothing if you're getting even min-wage.

for me it was more about keeping my marriage

Luciel 25-02-2005 00:06

i understand you perfectly tbaher, i had the same problem back when i used to play ultima online...

Luci 25-02-2005 01:54

Luciel how old are you?are/were you married?

Luciel 25-02-2005 05:54

nope, not married, but engaged (am, not where), nearly ****ed it up cos of the stupidd MMO addiction.

budica 26-02-2005 05:21

Wow did this ever go off topic.

Just points out how these online games can be social life wreckers!

I could write pages on why I hate online games, but I won't!

Suffice to say a mate just cancelled his Final Fantasy Online account after 9 months because everytime I went to see him he was playing it and his wife and me was getting sick of it. He looked at how much time he'd spent online and it was 5 out of the 9 months! That's 150 days or 3,600 HOURS or 6.25 hours/day!

Now that's either addiction, or compulsion due to having to pay each month to play!

Sad thing is now him and one of his kids are playing WOW, and he's just as bad so his wife is back to square one and I don't bother going round as often now, so it's affected my social life too and I don't play the damn thing!

budica 28-02-2005 16:03

I played Asheron's Call for over 2000 hours and I thought that was bad. Oh, but that was over 3 years.

That's why I wanted to find an off line way of playing these games. I would love to play but don't want to be hooked by other people.

tbaher 28-02-2005 22:05

I think this should be moved to general gaming :)

Having said that, I have just canceled my subscription and upgraded my Cable TV channels (I used to get 1-26 now it is 1-78).. I think it's more entertaining watch TV and use the weather channel, sci-fi channel, history channel, etc..

But yeah, I am definately off the game (Last login was February 17, 2005)
We will see.

I was previously hooked on Magic: The Gathering, and Pirates. But those were not even PC games, still same concept of endless money and my very low willpower :)

Good luck to all addicts of everything ;)

So have you got the shakes yet? Are you using game patches all over your body (like the nicotine ones for smokers)? :p
;)

Jackie7 01-03-2005 04:13

Also is there any patch which i can play offline lineage2 or wow?

budica 01-03-2005 05:12

There is a crack for WoW but you can't do every thing. It lets you run around and kill things but most of the NPC's aren't there and the armor is all messed up. I was running around at level 6 and killing things that where level 25. If anyone else knows of a patch that works propperly please let me know.

Thanks
