CloneCD will read a CD in the DVD-ROM but not a DVD. That's the whole problem.

To copy ps2 dvdrom games you need a dvd burner.
To create your working PS2 DVD-R back-ups, you may wish to use PrimoDVD software which is made by Prassi. In addition, a Pioneer DVR-A03 or comparable DVD burner is recommended! This burner presently goes for about us$499.

Check this site for more info.
