Season Ticket Basketball 2003 1.30 remove cd-check?
Ok the situation is this...
After Fast Break Basketball, the developer (in their forums known as heavyreign) developed Season Ticket Basketball, that was released by Infogrames and Atari if I remember right. This was also released online with key-based registration, with a couple of dollars discount. But the problem is this... There have been patches released for the cd-version, latest being 1.30. I bought the online version since it was cheaper and cost 10$ at the time, but installing the patch on top of it forces it to ask for a CD. Aka I can only play the original and buggy 1.0 version. Reading from their forums, heavyreign says its not up to him. He had submitted the patch to inforgrames for the online version just a week after it was released, getting no response. This ended in spot where infogrames discontinued the support for the game. Aka only the cd-version people can use the patch, and online ordering people cannot. According to heavyreign there is no difference, just the cd-check, and that online version works with the patch if there would not be a cd-check. But since he is the developer, he said he cant distribute the version that doesnt have the check so that people who ordered online version could update the game. But 1.0 is really buggy, and since I dont live in the States, for me ordering the one with the cd seems pointless, Id be paying about 26$ for a game I already own (since I have no mastercard, and need to use national online delivery service, which gets a fair load of cut) So Im here to ask if anyone could check the STB2003.exe version 1.30 out and see if there is a way to remove the cd-check? I used Protection ID on the exe and it found no results, so Im figuring this must be some easy copyprotection, that shouldnt be hard to remove. I uploaded the protected exe up to yousendit.com: http://s9.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2Q...E1XZ9YUFQH6JVS Thank you, absolutely every kind of help would be appreciated :) |
Hi Thomas,
Drop me an E-mail. I might be able to help you. I'll look into the executable within a few days, if time allows... Bye, Joe |
