Final Fantasy VII- Problems loading the Chocobo racing
I am running finalfantasy VII on windows XP home, I played the game up untill you reach the Gold Saucer.
When attempting to play the mini game, chocobo racing, I get the windows serious error report. I carrired on the game without playing the mini game but when you have to win the race to get out of the prison I get the same problems. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I have made backups of the original discs and they do exactly the same thing in exactly the same place. I have lso tried transferring the mini game folders from disc two and three into the mini game folder that has been stored on hdd after installation. could it be that I am running this on XP and S.R. say its meant for Windows95? Any help would be appreciated as I love the game and Im gutted i cantgo any furthur. ChrisPT |
If anyone knows the whereabouts of a no-cd, that would be appreciated also?

Hi CHRISPT,
If you have problems with the game, running from the original CD, you should contact the game manufacturer/publisher, refer to the official game support forum and/or search around on the Net. If I'm not mistaken, FF7 is a pretty old game so, yes, it might have minor to major problems with operating systems that didn't exist when it was released... Some game publishers release Windows XP fixes for their games, some don't; in the latter case, there might be a third-party fix it. You might also want to try a few sites dealing with old games (so called "abandonware" sites). Good luck, Joe |
A quick google search for "Final Fantasy 7 WinXP Patch" will fix you, yes it does exists, i used to use it and yes it does fix that problem.
