Online communicator?
 

hey guys.. i bought a broken xbox awhile back which i ended up fixing :D ..
it came with the live communicator (used) but it has no headset.. it has an orange wheel (for volume) a headphone jack and a picture of a mic with a button.. i wanna know why i cant talk online? is there sopose to be a headset that attaches? i just cant see where one would go!

alright just checked around and i saw that there is sopose to be a headset.. does anyone know if i can buy just the headset or if i can get sumthing cheap from walmart that will do the same thing?

That headphone jack is the same thing as a cell phone headset jack. So, you can either buy an official Xbox headset, a 3rd party one, or buy a cell phone headset and it should work fine.

Any universal 2.5mm jack will work. You can get a Jabra on Ebay for a few dollars. Thats what I used.

Like Quall said, most cell phones use the 2.5mm headset.

I knew cell headsets worked because I have 2, but I had no idea what the size was.

There is one thing you have to watch out for though. Make sure the rim of the jack at end is curcular instead of blocked off. Othwise, it will not fit in entirely and you will barely make a connection.

i picked up a replacement headset from EB that looks like the halo2 edition for like 10 bucks! :)
