need a new backup burner
 

have a liteon 48125w that went south on me. so, need a new burner. which burner should i get to copy the latest safedisk as in call of duty united offensive. preferably one that will burn cd's and dvd's. the liteon did backups of all my games using the latest alcohol 120% except the coduo. it will run from the alcohol image but won't burn

have you tried updating your firmware ???
dvd +-rws ,,take your pick i have an msi (cheap ) and has done me proud , and a pioneer 107 that is also going strong !!! go for a dual layer writer if you need to but hey recomendations are great untill you get the one fekin burner that gives nowt but grief .
its a case of needs ;)
have you tried diff progs coz im sure that your burner aint the problem where safedisc is concerned !!!!!!!!!!
what proggs are you runnin ????media etc

as luck would have it. i was having lots of problems with lockups and shutdowns did memory checks and psu changes cpu change. changed the gigabyte 7nf rz nforce board back to my old gigabyte triton board. now no lockups no restarts burner is working like it should actually everything is working right. even made a backup copy of coduo.
going to take a lot of convincing to get me to get another nforce board.
had nothing but problems from the time i installed it.
