Socom2, error 880....
i've been playing Socom2 for the past week and half with out problems. Tonight i fired up the PS2 to play some more SOcom and it told me my Network config file was created on another ps2. So i go ahead and delete that and create a new one. Now when it accesses the DNAS screen i get error code 880 which states a hardware compatibility issue. What the h3ll is going on?
|
Also when i run the paradox disc ID, i get:
Model ID 00 00 00 00 GU ID 0X XX 00 XX 00 00 00 00 so somehow it lost its own information. so how do i out it back? |
my cuz played socom 2 copy on my magic system just tryed it recently loaded up then he got a message saysing a cheat device was found and he got that name banned which was relly high in rank seems they are deceting mods now cause it never did this about 7 months ago when i tryed it
maybe its deceting ur mod as well just get ur dnas id and burn a new copy re patch it and trash that copy and try it again |
sorry that wont work.

Interesting.
Anyone else having these problems? Tyler! |
after doing some research there are others who had this problem. Its not relates to SOCOM either. So i need to run the console id changer and re-enter the numbers. Curious on how and why it lost the IDs?

Keep us informed. I hope its not anything new.

Changing the IDs is easy. If it's lost its own ID, that may be the problem with the DNAS Error...
Good Luck... :) |
i dont think the server is sifting mods as mine goes in with no problems ,have been on tonight (socom2 ) ,i dont have to turn my mod off to play online though (messiah 2) as some mods do has he tried to open a new account n turn mod off ????? n use orig disc , did you say you swapped the network addaptor over coz when you register on central station you have to input ps2 serial no etc and swapping the n/a over to another ps2 might cause a problem ?????????

I used the machine ID changer. The machine id was still there. the LinkID was all 0's. Not sure if the machine id was correct cause it started with:
01 11 02 18 xx xx xx 61 I thought i was reading that the ID should be: 18 D2 11 01 xx xx 39 01 LinkID: 07 19 00 1A xx xx 34 20 x= random numbers i did that and still got the 880 error |
Socom 2 Banned?
I have a retail copy of Socom 2 and I am getting DNAS -880 now. I have a magic mod chip but not a backup version of socom 2. I think they are detecting the chips even when diabled now. Now I know I did'nt download a new patch recently so I can figure this one out. I had the same problem rubber2k1 did with the network config file. I am going to try to delete all socom data from my mem cards and try again. Please let me know if anyone has a fix for this.

Load the Paradox machine id changer on ps2 and look at your Ilink id, if it is all zero's like rubber2k1 then I guess $ony is doing something to modded ps2 when you play on their server.

I was on Socom 2 just now and I had no problems getting on. I used the original disk and turned my mod off, been doing it like that for a year with no problems and im in Louisiana.
