PC Games: General Online Question

Hello,

I have played Halo online for a while and really enjoyed it. Then, I started playing Call of Duty followed by Call of Duty:United Offensive. Even better!

Anyway, with all the rave about Unreal Tournament and such, I was wondering what differentiates some FPS from others?

Specifically, I was thinking about an online FPS which saved a "progressive" character. Follow?

Anyone know of one?

Thanks!

Its basicaly the engine it is based on which really makes the game play different. If you find a game/engine you really like playing get mods (modifications) for that game and play different sorts of games with the same engine for example Half-Life, Counter-strike it a Anti-terrorist game and Day of Defeat it a world war game...hope this helps but I dont really get what you want :S

I dont know any games that ''saves a progressive character''...I am not sure but doesnt war craft do that? (I have never played it)

Hey guys,

Thanks for the replies.

As far as getting PlanetSide, is that game really popular? See, I was looking for a game like Sam Leach said about Warcraft - only instead of RPG, I was kind of more interested in getting a FPS.

As far as PlanetSide goes, I'm going to look into that as well today...

Thanks!

Hmmm....

After REALLY giving PlanetSide a thorough look-over, I'm mixed.

I think the game format mirrors that of Halo:Combat Evolved. I don't know for now....

Regardless, I think I found my answer to my original question about online progressive FPS - THANKS! :D

as far as i know its the only MMOFPS, and yes it is very popular.
