In need of a lens cleaner...
My V7's been getting slightly slower during load times, and I wondered if the lens might need a little cleaning (kept the console under a towel when unused, but never cleaned the lens since the day I bought it.)
Since I don't trust myself enough to open the PS2 and clean the lens by hand, I 'd like some recommendations on which brand of lens cleaners are safest to use. That said, should I do anything about it (use lens cleaner), since the PS2 still works relatively well? Also, I need to verify this rumor: will lens cleaners ruin the lens by brushing against it? A lot of people insist it's true, which made me decide against periodically using such products on my PS2. A million thanks for any advice! |
Well, lets put it this way, I've used laser lense cleaners in my PS2s for years and no harm has come to them yet. I think a lot of people believe it's true due to Sony making that excuse some years back about it's lasers - so people believe it.
IMHO it's all b*llocks ;) |
