installing patches

When you have got your patch you need to place it in the corresponding folder for the software. You will find them in my computer, C:/ , Program files then choose the corr4esponding folder Place it in there and doubble click. Follow the instruction on screen.

Same applies to a crack.

...make a copy of the original .exe file before replacing it with a cracked file else you will not be able to apply some future patches.

when I try to install and double-click on the patch it does not do anything. I downloaded one Rome total war. And there was nothing to double-click on.

After installing the game to your harddrive (FULL INSTALL), you should update it with the official version 1.1 patch for the game which can be found here. http://www.totalwar.com/community/download.htm

After that go to Gamecopyworld and download Reloadeds ver 1.1 game fix. Use a program called winrar to extrack game fixs.
http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-...ml?tag=lst-0-1

Next simply replace the original game exe file with the one (Reloaded's game fix) you just extracted.

You should place a copy of your original file in a seperate folder in your game folder where you can find it for later use and mark it ORIGINAL incase you need it to update the game again if they come out with version 1.2 or higher for the game. Many game updates don't agree with the fixed Exe files. If you don't keep your original you might have to reinstall the game in order to update it.

Attached is a picture of the game fix extracted. Put this Exe file in the game folder on your harddrive and replace the original that looks exactly like it. Then play the game.....

I highly recommend taking computer classes at a local school or acquiring a friend who know computer basics.

this is what this site is for is to ask questions. So if somebody could help me out please.

Hey Dakotakid44,

_All_ forums are for asking questions. The difference between them is _what kind of_ questions you're supposed to ask there... If you're having problems with basic computer usage, I suggest that you pay money to someone to have things explained to you: a knowledgable friend, a teacher in your school or your local ECDL center. Alternatively, use your original game, after having read the manual on how to use it.

People here are providing help free of charge so 1) you cannot _expect_ them to do everything for you and 2) harrassing them will result in their not helping you at all, even in cases when you would deserve it.

Joe

Exe file is short for executable file. Its the file you activate to start the game which is located in the games folder on your harddrive after you install the game from your original game disc. This is the file you should replace with a matching version of a NoCD fixed file if you want your game to work without the original disc. Its that simple! Replace one file and only ONE file! It will look exactly like the picture of the fixed file I posted. Its easier than staying cool in the Dakotas:).
