Sims 2 US fixed exe for DVD?
 

Does anyone know of a good working fixed exe for the US DVD version of Sims2? I have been searching and reading, and found info on the current dvd fixed exe only working on the European version. Nothing I have found shows any info on the US version. My kids love the original Sims so I bought us the Sims2. I always back up their cd's (dvd's) because we have gone through a number of broken disks so I like to keep the originals put away for safekeeping. This game has been out long enought that I would think someone has a fixed exe developed that will work on the US version???

no/cd for dvd and cd are the same.. try it.. if it wont work.. then... :)

The mini-image is the only thing that works 100% for the US version of the Sims 2, the other exe fixs will work but build mode and save is messed up, (you can't build a thing). Since theres already a worthwhile patch out for the game, the minii-image is the best way to go even if the regular ver 1.0 fixes did work correctly. To mount the mini image just install the game then install D-tools, reboot, and mount the Sims2_1_RIP.MDS file included in the mini-image you dload. Thats it!

Thanks a lot for the info!! Can you tell me where I can get more info on mini-image? I seen mention of it a couple times when I did my initial search for the crack, but no detailed information. I tried a site search but only came up with specific game posts that mentioned it. Also I hope it is real easy to do/use? The backup copy is for the kids so I would hope it is simple enough to do. Thanks again for the assistance.

Thanks guys for the info, I got it figured out. Pretty slick. Where can I find these "mini-images" at if they are not posted on the game page on the site? For example, I have the game Chronicles of Rid**** (CD version). I have been wanting to also back that one up, but the site only has a dvd fixed exe which doesnt work with the cd version. Can Daemon tools/mini image work with Chronicles of Rid**** (or all games) the way it did with Sims2?

The Chronicles of Rid**** No-DVD from GameCopyWorld will also work for the CD version of the game. Most times the No-DVD cracks will also work with the CD's and visa versa. ;)

NOTE: Well it works with the Australian Release of Chronicles which as far as I can tell is the same as the US release. When veiwing the 'Environment.cfg' with notepad it shows 'Language=US'. There are also Content folders and Extra Content folders for French and German!

Thanks Grumpy, but for me the NoDVD exe did not work. It was asking for the correct cd. I tried it a couple times, with same results. But thanks for the post!!!
