Messiah 2 and newer online games
 

Hi guys,
I'm starting to think the Messiah 2 has had its day. All my new online games just crash at the connecting screen with backups. My originals work fine with the mod disabled however. So, has anybody else had problems. My games in particular are TIF2005 and MK: Deception.

I found the problem - and it wasn't the Messiah 2.

I have a new system, and basically an older version of Sygate Home Network (which I believe now is discontinued).

Basically, I used my NVidia LAN instead of the Marvell Yukon and instead of Sygate, I used Windows XP ICS. Works great :)

but with that in mind you will have to activate 4 ports so it can talk to the ps2 as some games will hang at the dnas screen like mine did. It happens on ea games.

Nah - it's fine as it is with FIFA 2004. Strange...

its true it also depends if you got ur firewall active 2. go on www.playstation.co.uk and go to the network gaming forum.

My Windows Firewall never has been active. I use PC-Cillin for that.

no mcafee or norton it blocks them ports so the ps2 cannot comunicate with the dnas server.

Yeah, I'm not saying that.

What I am saying is that I use PC-Cillin and it doesn't block those ports - and just plays perfectly fine without having to touch any settings :)

Oh, quick tip on the ICS. Tell Windows you want to set up a small home or office network on your internet connection, and tell it to SHARE FILES, FOLDERS and PRINTERS otherwise it'll fail when going through DNAS (took me until 2:30 am to figure this morning :rolleyes: )

Umm, this is going to sound stupid but what are yall talkiing about? I mean what does Norton and Mcafee have to do with the DNAS of the PS2?

you get DNAS error 602 603. Meaning you're behind a firewall or something.

What are these 4 ports?

its 3658 and 6000 on tcp and udp, it will only work if you use windows xp ics. Its a fix so you can play ea games. I had to call up sony to find that out!
