USED V7 vs. NEW V12
Well,
I currently have a Version 1 PS2 which isn't the best to do a mod on. The lasers suck. I kind of wanted a vote here among everyone on what is the best way to go. I'm looking at a USED V7...you may ask how well has been taken care of...or how long has the person had it?...my guess is as good as yours. Or should I get the new V12 PS2 and just deal with it? What do you guys think? I've read some of the stuff posted by spedmetal about modding the V12...and there hasn't been alot of problems reported...I don't like the fact that I can't use a HD...but I'm not to found of getting a used and abused V7 either? Also...what is the actual way to tell if it's a Version 7...I read that the model number must read SCPH-39001...however in one of your guys avatars it says V7 (SCPH-39003)....so is it any SCPH-3900_? |
v7 or slim?
Used v7 definitely! But be careful it really is a v7. There are scum out there that will switch stickers or trade cases so it looks like a v7 but on inside it is not.
scph-39003 -that's most likely the pal version 7 deck scph-3900x -that's refering to v7's in general Pal or Usa Sony has gone downhill after making the v7's My batman deck is up for sale on ebay. It's a v7 and has a new laser. |
link me cheryl!...email it or pm it if it's against COC to post links, i can't remember...dark_flip********com

V7
Used V7 :)

How about used v7 vs. new v9 or v10? Would you still pick v7? Is it really THAT MUCH better?
Thanks |
To me it would depend on the condition of the v7. I got 2 v10's before they all disappeared. Both have infinitys and both run as well as my v7. It all goes back to using good media. V7's are a little more mod friendly compared to the v9,v10. but to me there better than the v12 :)
|
Do you say v7 is more mod friendly because of the better laser?
Thanks |
It's just an all round better console. V7 all the way :)

v7 or v9/10
I agree-just all around better parts. Plus you don't have to deal with romeo mod. Some v7's will have the open face laser and some v7's have the khs-400c laser. I would say most prefer the 400c laser. You can replace the open face laser with a 400c laser no problem. Also the v7 fan I have noticed it is louder-but it pushes about twice as much air. And parts that are kept cool should last longer. :D

Yup - agreed :)

Like has been said you need a good v7 :(
Me I'm still looking for a good one , Won a SCPH39003 pal machine on Ebay the guy only lived about 12 miles from me . Got home all looked in good shape and then turned PS2 on and not one original loaded  , phone the guy up and said when was the last time you used the machine and he said about six months ago So still looking for a v7 , once got one can sell my new v4 which played all DvD r copy movies . :D |
Why not just see if you can find a KHS-400C laser?
|
What and spend more money , the guy said it had only had about 10 hours of use  yeah right ! ! . He was full of S**T
Got my cash back , and on the look again for a v7 , how much should I pay for a used one . And if I can find a new unused v7  :D |
