FF7 on newer pc.
 

Hi i have FF7 for PC and on my old computer which is noy my little brother's it works alright but i tryed installing on this one (Win2k SP4,Riva TNT2-16mb,P3 933mhz CPU) and it crashed at the first battle either when i went to attack or got attacked some memory reference error read only blah blah.

So i went searching praying their would be patch and lucky me there was 1.02 specifically for nVidia Riva cards and also came across a Chocobo patch i applied both but now it's whinging about the inserting disc anyone know what's going on? oh and to save someone the trouble of asking yes i checked to make sure it was in my cd drive.

I doesnt recognize the original CDs after the patch?
Try this:
Make sure you have no other CDs or that the CDROM drive you're using to play the game is the first letter (among other devices except hard drives) and put your original CDs in and install from there

as for the memory thing try running it in compatibility mode: win98

PS: you probably read the forum rules so I'm assuming you have original CDs and this is not a warez crack-on-install thing and the patch replaces the EXE with the new version that's not cracked..

Well im not running Win2k anymore due to some other hassles with it and decided to finally go with XP and surprisingly not as bad as i thought.

Set to run under Windows 95 compatibility mode and i do not need any patches what so ever to run it now its a clean fresh install with no modification what so ever :P
