not really a game question, but.....
have a duo in my ps2, plays all my backups perfectly. i think my ps2 is rather old, prolly ver 4 or 5?
anyway. my $190 jvc dvd player suddenly craps out on me, and its off to the factory for a warranty repair. in the meantime, i throw in some flicks into the ps2. wont play. games are fine, both originals and backups, but no movies will play, regardless of the media. is there a boot sequence to get duo to play dvd's? anyone encountered this before? |
Put it in ps1 mode. If I remember correctly just hold down reset till your blue eject light turns on then release. Insert your dvd and it should work.

nope, wouldnt go. i believe its a duo 1? dunno if that makes a difference. been in there for at least 6-7 months. with power off, holding down eject will just perpetually open and close the door, never powering up the unit. with power on, i can boot it like i would a game, (turn power on by hitting eject, put game in, hit power button) and it would go to the menu between the card and the disc. when i finally am given the option to boot the dvd, it appears that its going to play but after about 2 seconds it reverts back to the menu screen, with just the card showing as a selection option. thoughts? |
With the system powered off and the game already in push and hold reset to turn on the system. Release reset when the Sony screen comes up. Or if you just put in the movie close the tray and hold reset to power off the system and then follow the above.

If that doesn't work mite be ur laser on the blink :(
