Need For Speed UG 2 Blackscreen patch v1.1
 

Hi,

Just before you delete this thread for being a copy, i just want to say i've tried the thread suggestions on refreshrates, i've tried mulitple cracks and still i get a black screen while loading the game after using the 1.1 patch- i can ctrl-alt-del to the processes window and then back in and i can hear the game running as it should in the background but still a blackscreen.

this is a legit bought version of the game, not a pirate.

any other suggestions? preferably by ppl that have fixed THIS game and not just encountered the same in battlefield 1942 etc etc

2 things come to mind, either re-install directX or if you are using a Nvidia card try an earlier driver. A few people had problems with the latest Nvidia drivers. (And I also realize many others 'didnt' have problems with the latest nvidia drivers!) ;) Just thought I would add that bit to stop people writing in that they dont have problems with the latest drivers but it may help in your particular case! I'd try DirectX re-install first tho. :)

yea the only prob with installing an earlier version of the Nvidia drivers is that NFSUG2 was written for the latest ones. If you rollback a version you will encounters wierd graphics problems - i contacted EA about that and they stress that you have to use the latest.

Im sure I read somewhere on this forum about others getting it to work using earlier drivers.

Try here, they are talkin about a different problem but hey you never know until you try! ;)

Thx but no it didn't work - to make things worse i uninstalled and reinstalled from stratch and now its STILL showing that black screen without any patch installed!

Fudge, looks like the games screwed now. Gonna have a look for reg entries but if its copied this into the saved-games then i'm gonna be pissed.

k its back to normal now.

if anyone can give a suggestion about this black screen that appears after you patch the game i'd appreciate it.
