it kinda looks like a blue-x5 but im not sure have a look at the blue-x5 on this website http://www.cyber-mag.com/station/ps2.htm

Yep. It's a BlueX5. You must have a V9 then dude...

How long has the blue-x been around? Reason I ask, is that I installed the chip about 18 months ago, and blue-x doesn't ring any bells! Can the blue-x only be installed in V9 consoles?

Gecko900 27-12-2004 04:17

the blue-x5 has been arround for a while now i think its been around for that long and i think it can be insatlled on versions up to v9

Just realised that it's more than 2 1/2 years since I installed the chip in a now defunct v7(?) (not a v9), so is it possible that the chip is a blue-x?

lufcfan 27-12-2004 05:02

Well, it can't be a Blue-X5 then...

I think it looks like a Smartchip.

isn't bluechip and smartchip pretty much the same? with difference that bluechipx5 is to be used in V9

I agree, I believe Hull_chipper used to install these. If he sees this post maybe he can confirm it.
