mod chip rip off
 

hey guys I got my ps2 like a week ago brand new and i got it chipped that day and now i have noticed all these scratches on it and I think my ps2 might of been swapped is there anyway to check like the serial on the ps2 with the book i got with mine or anything :/ and also does anyone have any sites which help me to get online with my ps2 :(

Yeah, check the serial on the case ( marked e.g Serial: xxxxxxx ) just under where the model # is, and then check on the underside of the box your PS2 came in and next to the barcode is a little sticker, with two bar codes on. The serial should repeat underneath the second barcode. It may look like e.g. S01-xxxxxxx-N

If the numbers don't match up, your PS2 has been swapped. :)

That's true for UK consoles anyway, I don't know about US...

I've seen this happen before. Not all installers are honest. This is why you should do a little research before sending your console to anyone.

Thanx for the help guys the serial is the same so it is all cool maybe they just dont look after peoples things I know I wont be going there anymore I would rather my ps2 take a couple of days to get modded and kept scratch free then 3 hrs and scratched the hell out of :/. Looks like if you want something done you gotta do it yourself pity you cant trust people these days :mad:

sorry to post again but I just tried to play online with syphon filter and hardware online arena and it comes up with error (-402) which is
"(-402) sceDNAS2_SS_INVALID_MEDIA
No test disc, or problems reading test disc."

What does that actually mean and how can I fix it ??

Are you using a backup?
If not, disable the mod and retry...

no it's not a backup there both originals and how do I disable the mod chip I have the magic mod chip 3.2 or something

The chip is probably the worst for PS2. In fact, the only thing worse than a Magic 3.x is the Slide Card method of booting backups...

H|LLJD00 : and no my ps2 wasn't swapped they just didn't look after it they scratched the **** out of it but now I think I will buy a ps2 skin :(

Far newer and far better chips are out now. Get an Infinity or as I am, a Crystal Chip and you won't regret it... :)
