It says that it looks like halo 2 is gonna be a launch partner with xbox next....something that was already speculated about and it was no secret that it's been in development for at least a year. Old news.

TURBO619 24-12-2004 13:57

no...the Halo3 is definitely coming to the Next XBOX.! per gameinformer. and that development teams have pretty much trashed all old tools used to make Halo2 and are using much more advanced tools to make the next Halo3 and are already past the beginning stages of development for the game.

as the next xbox is due out Q4 2005 it would be in everyones best interest to save Halo 3 as a launch game for it. microsoft will make a fortune as everyone wanting halo 3 will have to buy their new console, and the punters will be happy that the new Halo has all-new and improved graphics, rather than just it being a few extra levels for Halo 2

thats the general consensus anyway... if Halo 3 comes to the Xbox, they'll have to make another one (Halo 4) for the xbox next, and a halo every 6 months is more than we need. plus the new xbox will get off to a flat start if it doesnt have a game like halo behind it

Maybe you really haven't played halo 2 then. It's a prettier version of Halo with upgrades multiplayer and live capibilies....Halo 2 was far from a solid title.

Quall999 25-12-2004 20:15

I agree. I mean it has 15 levels, the first two being hardly even playable (they are just cut-scenes). Most are shorter and less open than any level in halo 1.

The ending was a cut off, then I read about how Halo 3 being developed along with halo 2. They made halo 2 short purposely to have a story for halo 3. THEN a Halo 2.5 was announced for xbox 2. I'm sorry, but that is just bull****.

HALO 2.5    ?? WTF??
ive never heard this... can someone fill me in?

Basically, it might have like 3 new levels, and support true HD-tv 1280x800

So let's see if I get this straight. the Big M$ puts out a somewhat rushed Halo 2 to feed the need for a strong FPS for the christmas season YET they purposely leave it half done like a piece of somewhat cooked pie, made us eat the friggin mess, then say "hey, when you're done eating the uncooked food we'll give you the real deal when you pay 350 for our turkey that can have gravy on it!"

Ya know MS HAD a chance to beat Sony...and I think they really screwed the pooch on it.

Quall999 26-12-2004 11:37

Yah, but I guess it IS better than nothing. I really hate how they "left us wanting more" in a completely untraditional manner.

MrCaine01 27-12-2004 14:40

I dunno if something is better than nothing in the grand scheme of things. I'd rather pay 49.99 and get a really solid game which I thought Halo was instead of a medicore game released just because the original was such a huge hit. It was realistically done just to cash off of the sucess of Halo and it's that is what really annoys me. Wouldn't they want to uphold the great tradition it was establishing as a benchmark for console FPS? I would have rather they waited, even if it meant another year in development or even pushing it to xbox 2 and continue a strong tradition of good gaming than just an attempt to cash in.
