Dms4 E.z.i

http://www.dms3.com/cgi-bin/dms4ezi/site.pl?page=homer how reliable it is. Guys what do you think?

Judging from the install picture its a clip on. Hope it works better than the old no solder clips. I never liked them.

Looks promising...especially for those who don't like to solder...

TylerDurden 19-12-2004 12:48

Remember old clip-on's had overheating problems.

Tyler!

Does anyone know if the new chip supports toxicOS?

seaneyb2003 19-12-2004 14:13

yeah someone told be about the old clip ons. apparantly this is new technology and shizzle but who knows. i donno how its gonna work properly tho. plus its prone to move around like the 2.3b lite + on the xbox gonna be like that u know having to open it up all the time if you jog it.

It's gonna be s****. I can just see it now - the best way to fit a chip is to solder it in and that way you know it ain't gonna go anywhere. I just don't think clips are the way to go - and I don't like the DMS4 either...

seaneyb2003 20-12-2004 01:57

i wont be using them prob cost an extra 20 just for the kit!

lufcfan 20-12-2004 02:03

Yeah, I think you'll be right there too.

It's just the way they go on about them being 'Precision Moulded.' Are they so precise that when a complete ar*sehole gets the kit out of the box and puts the clip over the fine pitched DSP legs, and it doesn't go on so they push it harder and it ends up snapping half the bloody legs off? It's just nowhere near foolproof. It's a recipe for disaster if you ask me...

Although the Diagnostic signal patcher would be a great idea (if we had a universal one which worked for all chips). Anyone care to develop one? ;) :D
