DMS4 Pro works!

i brought DMS4 Pro recently and installed in my v10. Everything worked like a charm. There were few setbacks though. When first powering on the PS2, you will have to use regular AV cable and not component cables in order to see the screen. Using component video will get you nothing on the screen. Then u will have to flash the program with Toxic OS or DMS4 Pro OS. I picked Toxic OS cuz it can act as an HD loader too with the ability of mod chip. It means I installe the Toxic OS included its own hd loader on to the flash of DMS4 Pro. Everything works perfectly. Every game boots on start up and the hd loader included with Toxic OS worked the same as HD Loader. Now I no longer need my HD Loader. I can just boot it up automatically straight up from the mod chip.

The problems associated with DMS4 was ppl got confused with the really bad diagrams. Unlike Magic diagrams, the diagram is separated into different pieces which is really hard to locate. I dont know why they did it this way but it still got the job done. I rather have 1 whole diagram with high resolution than 8 zoomed in diagrams. Secondly DMS team announced the other prob was with faulty chips which can be easily replace by sendin it back to them.

I dont think any other chips can install hd loader on to there mod chip? :)

Not a big deal really when you can install it to the memory card just as easy with out the need of a whale boat of a mod chip just to hold a flash memory chip large enough to install HDloader to the mod chip its self. The DMS4 is extremely large in my opinion and difficult to make tight, clean, short wire installs.

The problems people where having did have to do with the diagrams, but not the way in which you have described it. No one has trouble with the 10 different jpeg diagrams. It’s the install points them selves on the diagrams. I don’t think the V10 diagrams suffered from this problem but the v3, v5, and I think V7 diagrams where all together wrong on a few of the install points. They have since fixed this and the new diagrams on there site are correct.

The real problem with the DMS4 is with ground bounce. Once again not so much on the V9/V10's (in fact haven’t seen it yet on these versions) but on the V4, V5, and V7's I have seen it first hand. Even with short thick ground wires this happens. Its not too much of an issue as normally a quick reset will bring it out of the ground bounce, but its still an issue that there competitors chips seldom suffer from.

Here is my (some what of a) review of the DMS4 and toxic bios/OS

Personally, I feel chips such as the Matrix Infinity and the Crystal Chip CC-1.0 are far better than any of the DMS teams efforts to date. But glad to hear it works well for you... :)

Bad Chips- no

Actually last I heard filterx was still holding on to "it's not the chip-it's a bad install". I was one of the people that mailed in a deck and chips to dms in france. I did get another deck for this but I have yet to see the money refunded to me (that I spent on postage to mail the deck to france) or any chips back. This was all promised to me by team dms. There were points that were labeled wrong and also with the v7 one of the pics is for a jap v7. While the other 7-8 pics are for usa v7.

Well whatever..... I had a v5 and v7 and installed the DMS4 Pro 4 times on each and it still had ground bounce issues every time. Each time I did it totally different; I highly doubt that this isn’t some what of the chips fault. With the MI's you can make your install look like a spider web and not get a ground bounce problem. DMS products have always been very touchy, which a mod chip shouldn’t be. We are already in there trying to make the machine work in a way it’s not designed to so why should we have to deal with the added head ache of an overly sensitive chip to the mix. Just my thoughts, I know there are some DMS die hard that will disagree so let the ranting begin.

Well said Spedmetal.
