SW: KOTOR II Movie Dialogs Problem - Skipping conversations
 

I backed up my copy of SW: KOTOR II to my HD (straight from the original DVD) and noticed that whenever a character gets involved in a conversation with someone, the game skips straight through the dialog to the part where you choose what you want to do.

ive played with it a bit now, and its basically skipping the movies that contain the dialog between characters, and dumps you off where it leaves you with a decision to make. theres no sounds made from the conversation, just skips straight to the decision making part of the conversation with the character.

playing straight from the original DVD there is no problem. conversations happen normally.

anyone else seen this? i am going to try the droid fix as posted earlier to see if that has any effect.

Choochoo never mentioned any glitch like that in the other thread.. I'm guessing he would've at least made note of it since he played through. But I'd still PM him or wait for him to post to find out. I think though that it would've shown up by now.. Have you tried a second burn? Does it do that from the harddrive? Hopefully someone can help you out.. I'll be getting the game tomorrow, so if no ones replied by then I will try.

i am only doing it from the HD at the moment. playing using the original DVD works fine. havent made a backup to test, no real need.

You might have to fix the directories.ini for the hdd game to work properly. I tried backing mine up straight from the original disc, using dvd2xbox. But the thing kept freezing. So I just transfered from FTP, fixed the INI, and then transfered to the xbox hdd.

i recopied with dvd2xbox and it works now. i think it missed like 1GB worth of files or something. sorry for the confusion.

Not your fault Rude.. Better it be a program error than something that needs to be fixed.

Ya know there is a million bugs in this game. I was playing off my dvd-r and within the first three hours I had about 20 lock ups...all in combat with the invisible sith assassins on the rupublic ship the Harbinger. It just got ridculious that I had to save every five minutes and right after every fight.

Its all the teeny tiny files and folders within folders within folders. Its a big mess and a suprise it boots at all.

even the original disc is a mess. I grabbed the original and figured it was just a faulty burn and I'd get by it on the original but even the original locked up like mad. Talk about unfinished and unpolished.

I have been playing my copy for about 2 days now and it has been fine.
No lockups.
No freezing.
AND played past mining sequence off Hardrive, dont know why but it works!
I just FTP the game over.

You didnt happend to have the original disc in your drive even though you played off your hdd did you?
