HDloader vs. HDadvance?
 

I read the sticky review of the HDloader...are the hdloader and hdadvance similiar or is the hdloader just much better...anyone know about the hdadvance?

They are essentially the same. However with the HDA v2 that came out, it is suprerior to the original HDL. HDA is a rip off of HDL made by ps2ownz ( :mad: ). Ask the other guys or search, I can't concentrate right now.....

lol yeah the HDA is a rip off version basically a fake version of it. which isnt very good because its not compatiable with most games.

I have both, who says HDA is not compatible with most games????? Not one problem with it yet!!!! 200g HD is a nice feature as well!

check the hda site theres so many games not able 2 be put on there its a joke!

I'm sensing here a propaganda situation here.

I can understand and justify the anger against HD ADvance since its a clone with stolen code from HD Loader, but lying about that HD Loader is better, so as to promote HDL and dissuade users from buying HDA, i think it's bad. In addition to that HDL doens't support bigger HDD's as HDA.

I think it's more honest to say that "Yeah, they are same and maybe HDA is better for this and that reason, BUT FYI they stole the code from HD loader developers" rather than propagandising that the HDL is way better than HDA.

That's of course my humble opinion.

Well HDL WAS better because it DID play more games than the HDL (probably still does). HDA has the same problem as the swap magic discs and original HDL so if you combine those 2 you wind up with more games that are uncompatible. :rolleyes:

But now that HDA has 200 gig support its your choice. I would rather not give my hard earned cash to "Z" (owner of ownz) because he's a lying, cheating, stealing bastard.

Yeah, but most people don't know or bother to go through the process of making HDL 48 bit. :rolleyes: But hey, HDA is still ripping off codes and such from other people. ie ZeroX's 48 bit lba patch which enables 120gb+ HDD. It's not patented or anything, but it still is ripping off someone else's work. So..... pretty much ownz is making money off of other people's work and it seems like they are taking credit for the work as well.... My opinion....

Yes, but in this way you consider by default that everybody has a mod installed in his PS2. But this is not the case for many ppl. They buy an ORIGINAL HDL or HDA, so as it can be booted without modchip.

And yes, I believe that is very lame to still other ppl's work and take credit for it.

@TylerDurder: OK, i believe you (i don't have a reason not to, anyway), but i want to clarify here that i made my comment, because i believe that it is better to be objective and let the ppl make their choices after they know the facts. By the way, can you tell me of a game that works on HDL and not on HDA? I'm just curious...

Those double toc games dont work on the hda because the hda has the is basically a swap magic disc and the hdl isnt.

wots an example of a double toc game? i did a search on google and i found a result that said splinder cell was a double toc.

however it works fine on my PS2 no mod but hda

I was going to go off on something, but I don't think it would be particularly appropriate on this board. (I've was warned once by Warlock already :D ). But there are other ways of using a modified original HDL or HDA on a non modded system. Knife Trick! :p Just playing. I hope I didn't cross any lines with this post. ;) This is just to tell SurfDrifter that there are other ways of using modified original HDL or HDA w/out a modded system.
