Problem w/ Sony DRU500ulx and RNM V.4.5
 

I'm having a problem making any backups (primarily PS2) using Sony DRU500ULX, Record Now Max and 4x Media (tried Ritek and Princo). My Sony drive is not detecting or recognizing the blank media...keeps spitting it out and saying "insert blank media". I had this problem about a year ago...downloaded latest driver and it seemed to fix it...but not this time. I been working on this for about the past 5 hours now...any suggestions? :mad:

did u try useing firmware for it it may need a firmware upgrade i use to have a link to a site that had all kinda of firmware but its a dead link now guess it got shut down.

I actually found and downloaded the latest firmware update (2.1a) earlier and still nothing.

Well that particular drive is fairly old. Did you use higher speed media? I understood that at one time this created problems with slower burning drives. Not sure if firmware fixed that problem.

You may have a burnt out laser as well.
