Games on HDD not working

Hey, dudes..

Ehm.. e.g. I copied Burnout 3 to my HDD but it wont be start... With Rid**** there comes a msg like "U need the original DVD to play it". But I´m to lazy to do this.. Is there any chance to solve this?

Which program did you use to copy rid****? DVD2xbox may have an acl to patch it. The backup worked for me fine though.

For burnout 3, try removing the files in X, Y, and Z. Also, use dvd2xbox if you didn't.

and...
whats ur bios ur usin?
and...
boxplorer's better than dvd2crapbox

Quall999 29-11-2004 10:08

boxplorer doesn't have auto-patching (game specific), auto-copy, and doesn't stop when one file cannot be copied then warns you about it when it finishes. :p

it does have a better file manager though

AXmichigan 29-11-2004 12:51

haha
yea it just doesnt autopatch really
but if u have the latest x2 bios
u dont needa
(minor exception(s))
the way to do everythin on boxplorer is so much better though
and easier

:) 10x a lot for answers..

Well, now I have 4 bad copies of Burnout 3 and Ri**** on DVD..

And I tried everything.. to copy it with "ftpx"(it extracts the iso to xbox HDD and patches the media check), to dump it with HDD Loader(it patches on the fly), to copy it normally by FlashFxp.. and by burning on DVD.. OK.. burnout 3 is on HDD and it start BUT the first loading screen freezes on loading at 100%.
Rid**** I tried also, but there comes a msg: "Please put the Original DVD in ur drive"..

What should I do?

MY DVD Drive is from Philipps..
I have Evo-x..
Bios version? I dont know.. (is it really depending from BIOS?)

Why do you have coasters if your trying to transfer to your hdd?

Tyler!

CALM DOWN BIG T-BONE
u didnt try usin boxplorer?
try it man...
but yea it really could depend on bios
goto evox -> settings -> bios
and tell us what the kernal says

Quall999 01-12-2004 07:53

I am wondering the same thing as Tyler. Also, why even create an iso in the first place, if you are just going to extract it to your HDD. Would that not take twice as long?

Phoboss 02-12-2004 03:47

Yeah baby, yeah :p
It were the stupid no-name DVD-media which I had bought... Now, I just copied the Original Game (burnout 3 and Rid****) to my pc(with ftp). Then I simply burned the folders of the games(without any iso-**** or XBE-patching) in an UDF/ISO project on my TDK 4x-DVD(in the burn-dialog of nero 6.0 u must check the Xbox-Compatibility-Box and set ur DVD-R/+R as an DVD-Rom).

And both work perfect.

Forget about xIso or Dvd2box or sth. like that... its so easy.. u need only an Ftp-prog like Flash-Fxp and Nero(version 6).

10x a lot for ur answers

Burnout 3 rocks!
Rid**** not so..(due the middle-good graphic;and no AA) :)
