V:TMB has a weird bug at launch.
 

Whenever I try to start the game, the window comes up, says loading for about 5 seconds, then closes with this message: "The procedure entry point _AIL_set_redist_directory@4 could not be located in the dynamic link library mss32.dll"

Pretty much the same thing happens in full screen mode, except that it simply abruptly closes back to desktop on the initial black loading screen. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

What message do you get when you use the original CD to play?

With the original disk, it goes like this: Startup screen comes up, I hit play. Game logo comes on for a few seconds, then disappears. Window comes on, shows grey loading screen, then the logo comes back on and appears over it. Both stay for a few seconds, then disappear. No error message.

Could all these problems be something to do with DirectX? There are so many threads now about this game that its hard to keep up with them all but do I remember reading something about reinstalling DirectX? ;)

I'll try reinstalling that. It really does seem like a problem with the drivers or something, because I remember having a similar problem with D3 before I got the experimental drivers from radeon. I did instal the directx9.0c from the game, though.

Nope, reinstalling directx didn't work. This is making me very sad.
