XBL Headset options...
Okay, this might be one of the most benign topics ever on this board... forgive me. =)
There is the XBL Headset, what an ugly and uncomfortable and fragile thing. There is the $50 Plantronics Halo 2 Headset, very nice but a little pricey. I've got a decent earpiece with inline mic meant for a Samsung Cell Phone that works pretty well, but I still don't quite like it.... The headset I like is the Sony Headset I have for my Nokia Cell, but it doesn't work with XBL... Question: Do you guys know what other headsets work for XBL? Any recommendations? Preferably something light, over the ear, with a boom mic? |
Hiw does it not work with xbl? Is the end squared, so it doesn't fit into the socket (that was a problem for me). Or does it just not get any sound or voice?
I am still using the xbl headset, however, I modded the speaker out off the head piece, and use voice output through my game speakers. The only reason I hated the MS headset was due to the that speaker squeesing my ear and making it red. |

Any 2.5mm headset should work. I use one I bought for my cell phone. Ebay has hundreds. Nokia does not use the 2.5mm plug but most of the cell phones on the market do. Just about any one that says universal is a 2.5mm also. Plantronics make a nice one. I have the M135. I also have a Jabra and it works good but it actually goes in your ear and starts to hurt after an hour or so.

Hmmm...
My Sony headset for nokia uses a 2.5mm, but maybe not "universal"; where other 2.5's have 3(?) contact points on the plug, this Sony one, as well as my other Nokia headsets, have 4(?) contact points on the plug. Hmmmm...
Yeah, I'd like to get that logitech wireless, but I haven't that much money. Also, I believe teamxbox.com has some reservation about the signal or whatnot... Yeah, the original XBL headset makes my ear red after a while and leaves indents on the side of my head. |
