Ea Games and Matrix
 

I have the Matrix chip, with 1.38 bios. I cannot play any EA backed up games. Burnout 3 boots part way thru load screen then stops. Fight night and Nhl 2005 get black screen and sounds like laser is on constant. Also Mortal Combat, not EA I know but it gets disc read error. My friend can play all with the same matrix chip, the same disc I am using. Very confusing, all others work it seems to be the EA discs for me. Any clues.
By the way ps2 is version 4.

Unfortunately thats probably your problem. The V4's are notorious for laser issues when reading recordable media. It may need a cleaning and adjusting.

The Infinity isnt to blame as it boots just about everything!!!

Also what type and brand of media are you using?

It will read most games great, but the ea and a couple more nada. It does show most in the browser but when I click on them black screen. One game lets me click on the disk then it loops back to the disk again. Maybe adusting it would help, I hope. Also I use Ritek media.
