Is DNAS getting clever or is it me?
 

Sony recently sent me a new Network Adapter disc (Friday to be exact).

Hardware Online Arena is great! I had a few offline games and then decided to go online. The disc passed DNAS (as you would hope), but the servers couldn't connect me. So, I tried numerous times and nothing. So I tried my old NA settings, it let me on but then I got a connection lost message straight after. So I disabled my Messiah 2, used my new settings once more and on I went - everything perfectly fine.

So is it my chip, or is DNAS just getting very clever?

well make a dna$ patched backup from the disk, if it goes online this time then it's definitely dna$ fault.

Lufc please do more research on this. Ill sticky this if it winds up being more conclusive.

OK, I will do. My old games (FIFA 2004) still go on and work perfectly with the new NA settings, but the Hardware Online Arena which comes with the new Network Access Disc doesn't want to play ball unless the chip is disabled. I'll make a backup and retry.

I suspect it may be the disc, as it crashes when you try and test the NA settings, and it did arrive very dirty from Sony :mad:

So, I'll make a backup and let you guys know...

Very strange guys - original disc now connects and plays fine with Messiah 2 ON. I don't know what causes this, but the most the server seems to be able to handle 153 users. When 99 were on (just now, it let me on first time). So, it's good news - DNAS isn't getting clever at all........ well, not just yet anyway ;)

That was a really interesting question. I guess we all wanna know what happened to him.
I hope he is OK atleast.
