How do i use the rome total war cheat patch

I bought this game, had it updated to 1.01 and installed the no cd from reloaded to 1.01. but the instructions are so vague and the RTW Cheatpatch application doesn't seem to work? Does anybody have any idea how to use it??

Which instructions are vague? The NoCD or the cheatpatch?

I moved the thread from "Backup"-Forum to "General Gaming"-Forum!

The instructions to the cheatpatch, doesn't say how to intall it.

I did think you meant the cheat Patches but just had to make sure! I dont use cheats myself, so no I cant offer you any advice. I personally think it takes the fun out of a game! Plus its just a waste of money to buy a game then use a cheat to get thru it. ;)

To each his own. so is there anyone out there who knows how to apply this patch?

You will need to supply a bit more info on the cheat patch if you want help with it! Whats the name of the patch? What sort of file is it? ;)

I have also tried to use this cheat patch with no luck.

The patch is located at gamecopyworld.com, located at this link: http://dl.gamecopyworld.com/?d=2004&f=RTWCheatPatch!rar

Or you can search for rome total war at www.gamecopyworld.com

This patch eliminates the once per game limit implementation on the in game console cheats like process_cq. The directions tell us to just unrar the files to a temp folder and run the patch with either the No-CD fixed executables made by Unloaded.

As soon as I ran the patch it immediately gave me a program error suggesting that their is something missing or something not programmed right with the patch.

I actually came here to ask the same question as you did. Seems like we are the only two so far that actually tried it. I beat the game 6 times over after 12 hour days of playing it.

I would love to process_cq a few dozen legions myself.

For your info I tried it for the 1.0 excutable as well with no luck. I also tried extracting it into the games system folder with no luck.

I guess it was created under the alias "Reloaded". I don't know if Reloaded has a e mail or web site.

OK, after some careful google searching I found a forum for Rome Total with the creator of patch registered on it.

The thread is located here:

http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=38671

He states you need the .NET framework update from Microsoft to be able to have it patched. So you have to go to the MS windows update site and search for it, and I believe they also give a direct link to it in the thread.

It appears it does work with others. I could of swore I installed the .NET framework update all ready, but I am at work now and I have to wait until the end of the day to test this out.

Oh, man, thank you so much. After i installed the .NET thing, I proceeded to install the cheat patch. It worked excellently, legion after legion came pouring out of my cities. Dude, you will so enjoy this patch. However, the one problem is that after installing the .NET patch you will need to log in to use windows. So to remedy this, i just deleted the new account it installed and now it works fine. Again, thank you so much for finding this.
