Ok so I want to mod my Ps2. Should I get a chip so I can play backups if so which one? or can I buy the new HD and some how download full games onto that like xbox. let me know what I need.

I was gonna help you there for a second until you said you were going to use it to download games... :(

EDIT: Unless you meant transfer from game disc to the HDD as in download to the HD from the disc - my bad, sorry ;) :)

I wonder if he just meant transfer. Lets let the guy explain himself better before we can actually help him.

OK, as you meant transfer, the Matrix Infinity is the best, but one of the most costly. For straight forward booting with top notch reliability, you can't fail with a Duo2 :)

just to clarify I will be able to Transfer full games onto HD or I will be able to play back ups with the infinity chip. can you recommend a place that distributes them for money?

both - transfer games and play backups. As for where you can get one, where are you from? You're talking about the Matrix Infinity mod aren't you?
