Microsoft and/or Benq Copy Protection?
I just tried to copy one of my movies, and received this error:
" DVD Shrink encountered an Error and can not continue Copy Protection Error The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error." I have a new Benq DW1620 dual layer DVD writer. I tried to copy "The Lady Killers" and received the error. Figuring there might be new copy protection out there, I tried an old DVD called "Dungeons and Dragons" which I already had created a backup a long time ago. I received the same error when trying to copy "Dungeons and Dragons". This leads me to believe that the form of anti copy protection is within my system. The only two "new" things on my system since I last made a backup was: - Installed a new Benq DX1620 DVD Dual Lauer DVD Writer. - Installed Windows media player 9 - Installed Microsoft's XP service packs and updates. Any ideas?... I searched the forms, and could not find anyone with the same problems I have been experiancing.. Thanks for the help.. |
Well I have wmp9 and am currently up to date with my service packs from M$. So I know thats not it. Why not try and decrypt your dvd with dvddecrypter www.dvddecrypter.com and then use DVD Shrink to shrink your movie.

Mystery Solved...
I searched online at other sites, and could not find anything to resolve this problem. I did notice that other people had the same problem, but no one had a specific fix. the best fix that was found, was that someone sugested that you should uninstall all DVD software, and uninstall the DVD drive, then reinstall everything. This was the only solution I found online.. so I decided to start removing my DVD software. The first software I removed was Nero Express 5.5. I then tried to make a backup of one of my DVD's and... it worked.. I tried a couple more, and again they also worked.. So.. if you hear of someone with the same problem again, you might want to suggest that if they have Nero Software, to try to uninstall it. Hpe this helps others...
