ratchet and clank 3 boots but crash's on level loading
hmm..just as i figured both games dont work. and yup ratchet and clank 3 freezes when u first get ur weapon and fight ur first enemy...how odd. it would be cool to have both games on my hdd but it seems that i was right...not hdd compatible..oh well.
do any of the games have elf files
yup...ratchet and clank 3 does have an elf file..why?
Jak 3 works if you hexedit the SLUS (Or whatever region your game is). I'll try to find the info, I have it here somewhere....
There is a patch for the NTSC release though. Here: Jak 3 NTSC Fix Use PPF patcher to patch iso. (To make iso, use dvd decrypter or something of the sort (Isobuster, etc) EDIT: For the PAL version, patch offset 0x3ba0 of SCES_524.60 from 0c 00 40 04 to 13 00 00 10 then enable mode 3. For the NTSC version, patch SCUS_973.30 at offset 00003bb0 to 13 00 00 10 then enable mode 3. Use a Hexeditor then inject/update with Apache 2 or by other means (Recompile DVD/etc). Hope this helps! |
any luck with the ratchet and clank 3 game? im gonna try out this patch for jak 3 and see how it goes.
the patch worked..hey do u have more patches for other games that dont work? for example hot shots golf fore, ratchet and clank, etc.
whats the name of the elf file
u mean for ratchet and clank 3? the elf file is called I5BOOTN.ELF
copy the files on the disc to your hard drive, then using notepad edited the top line of the SYSTEM.CNF to read
BOOT2 = cdrom0:\I5BOOTN.ELF;1 Then rebuilt the ISO in nero or another program in no particular order and making sure to rename it to the original name of disc. Dump it using HDL_DUMP(or another program) and using I5BOOTN.ELF as the Disc ID (Instead of SLES/SLUS/SCES_XXXXX) Try loading it with all modes OFF if nothing then try with All modes and so on |
That elf supposedly allows you to be taken to the Multiplayer options. You're able to create a game but not join it. That's what I've heard. :cool:
ok so ur saying dump the files onto my computer first, then edit the system.cnf to read BOOT2 = cdrom0:\I5BOOTN.ELF;1, then rebuild the iso using nero or another program, then dump it using hdl_dump(whats this for?) and u also said to use I5BOOTN.ELF as the disc id, so ur saying to use this id for when i make the iso image?
p.s. but what if theres no system.cnf file...there is a file called system but it doesnt have an extension of some sort and there is a folder called cnf as well but there are no files containing system.cnf. |
hdl_dump is a PC ----> PS2 program.
The command line to dump the iso would be something like this: hdl_dump inject_dvd hdd1: "Ratchet and Clank 3" c:\RC3.iso I5BOOTN.ELF I believe that should be it. Although it's not going to work..... |
