sims 2 supposedly working nocd
 

after reading this page on these forums http://fileforums.com/showpost.php?p=249720

and looking at gcw it appears there is a working nocd which allows build mode to work etc.

However I have the 4 cd international release (as described in that page because i have the 15 languages in it). Yet this crack refuses to work, i get a little colourful "money" logo pop up along with a please insert the correct dvdrom.

The file it mentions is the 2kb version of 00000001.TMP which I have (although this resides on the cds not in my game folder (copying it over to the game folder both root and tsbin does not work anyway).

any ideas what ive done wrong? if i put cd1 in the drive it then loads and works fine!! (which it doesnt do without this nocd).

Read the page again. First paragraph:

"Also, this is not a nocd/dvd.. but infact a Fixed EXE"

The crack is just a fixed exe, meaning you can use it with a backup, and not without it.

Tip

that would explain it, however it is advertised on gcw as a "No-DVD/Fixed EXE" which is what all the nocd files are always called.

oh well, might as well give up on them now, proper nocd cracks are becomming rare, seems they finding ways to make uncrackable games these days with the likes of sims2, toca, flat out etc
