PSX games from PS2 HDD

I have seen, and read on here, boot disks that allow PSX games to be played on a PS2. These bootdisks also say they allow the PS2 to play PSX backups without the use of a modchip. Is this bit true?

Is there anyway of patching the HD software and putting PSX games on HDD and playing them?

Also I think the answer is going to be 'no' for this one but is there anyway the PS2 console can be reset from the controller like it could on *cough* *cough* Nintendo systems?

You dont need a boot disc to play PSX originals. The boot disc you speak of is the PS-X-change disc and i dont think it works on the PS2. No boot disc will load a backup by itself. On a PSX you must mod the lid so it doesnt know its open. On a PS2 you must do the slide card swap which can damage the PS2. A smart person would just by a chip and be done. And no you cant load PSX games on the HD.

You are not able to run PSX games on the PS2 because the HDL is already overflowing or something of the sort the PSX drivers right? I believe that's the case. Wished you could run them though.... that'd be sweet. And a few people are trying to find a way to reset the console from the controller using RF or IR. That'd be great though! Closest thing to remote turning on and off is a long stick... and that isn't working out too well when I hit the wrong button...
