Is my laser on the edge or not?

Hello all,

Just want your expertese thoughts.
My V5 struggle abit to read my dvd-r (Ritek G04) backups.
most times it boots the disks without any problems at all an if it does boot it is always before the electron swirl and no skipping in fmv's or anything like that at all. only when boot it happens that I get red screen, a few reset or poweroff usually make it to boot. and it never go to elecron swirl to red screen.. always direct to red screen.
I know I might explain little blurry but I hope you undeerstand what I mean.

or can it be my chip that got some wire that is not good anymore?
I modded it about 10 months ago I think.

This stuff happens on both dvd-r movies and dvd-r games.

I tried to run a cleaningdisc but no difference. can it be that I need to clen the lense by hand with some fluid?

I know this forum has alot of "experts" in this area.

It is a v5 which is considered old so it probably has some laser wear. Without having the console in hand its hard to tell.

The chip is a DUO

It happens both warm and cold.

My thought goes to the chip as well atm.. shouldn't I get problems during gameplay too if it was the laser? I mean, none fmv I see skip so far.
and no longer loadingtimes what I can mention atleast.

It only happens when I reboot or just startup the console.

OK, yeah, it sounds like it’s the chip except usually you can disable a faulty chip and play DVD Video’s just fine, so I don’t know about that part.

True, something made my console to act strange..that we all can agree on..
and as warlock said.. maight be hard to figure out...
