Installing Dash without DVD drive?

Basically, I'm sitting here with an xbox on my desk while I wait for my first shipment of Samsung drives to come in. I have the X3 bios working just fine but does anyone know how to load up a dash without a drive? Can I use X3's FTP access, or is that for BIOS flashing only?

hmm, what do you mean? You don't need a dvd-drive to load the dash, you can boot it off your HDD. If you need help on copying to the hdd, then ask away. If you already know how, then well.....

Yeah, I think it's the copying so hard drive portion I wasn't so clear on, I'm gonna try tonight.

Does it support those flash pen drives? The Xenium ICE's are capable of using them to flash.. It worked pretty easily.. You could invest in a cheap 128mb drive if it does..

Wow, this is harder than I though. There isn't a single goddamned working too out there that can read an xbox drive. There's some that dump, then you can read and edit the dump but that's it. If you try to restore you're ****ed.

Grr.. now my mobo doesn't like any DVD drive I put in there. I guess i must've fried something in the dvd controller area of the board. Anyone have a 1.0 mobo they want to sell?
