Simpsons Season 3, CloneDVD & AnyDVD Problems

Tried to back up Simpsons Season 3 with AnyDVD & CloneDVD, but when trying to watch on my DVD Player, I get a "Region" error. DVD Shrink warns me it contains R.C.S. (or something like it) Protection, and needs to remove it, but I haven't yet tried to burn it or watch it using DVD Shrink being afraid to have another coaster on my hands. I would much rather use CloneDVD, does anyone know of a way to get this to work on it? TIA

Where are you from and what region is your movie set to?

Sorry, I suppose that would help! United States, and that's what it's set to, or maybe North America. The DVD set I'm trying to backup is also from here. I have AnyDVD set to that too (all default settings actually).

That is odd. My sister owns all the Simpsons box set dvd's. Ill ask her to see if she can back up her 3rd volume. Is it any disc in particular?

Started with CD1. I kept all the episodes, comercials, extras, and removed all languages other than english. Gave me about a 58% compression, best I could do without losing any video.

Try the other discs. Its a been a bit harder to get a hold of my sis than I thought.

Yep, did it with CD2 also. Even downloaded the latest AnyDVD (4101) and did the same thing.

For the hell of it, tried backing up 28 Days Later, a 20th Century Fox DVD which is who released The Simpsons Third Season. I had no problems what-so-ever... curious???

Well I finally talked to my sis and explained the situation. Finally after she understood what I was saying she said she would try and back up the discs. But she didnt say when. So Im guessing sometime this weekend she'll do it. Shes a very busy woman so Ill let her be till then. Anyways, Ill drop by her house and check up on it this weekend.

Im more of a Futurama fan myself. I have all their box sets. All backed up without problems btw.

For the hell of it, did a search on the MSN search engine and this link came up.

Exact same problem, but their solution is mind boggling. Like I previously said, I was able to back it up with DVD Shrink and may have to settle for that. It appears to be in the way AnyDVD does it's decrypting. They mention the updated DVD Decrypter solves the problem, but then again, it's not CloneDVD.
If you or your sister come up with a better work-around... please let me know. BTW... THANKS for your help so far, hope to hear from you this weekend.

Very interesting read!

If you wanna use DVD Decrypter in this one case Im sure itll be fine. Just rip the dvd to your hdd and then open CloneDVD2 and have it read the files from your PC. Then just burn to disc and delete your old files when done.

I'm still using the demo of AnyDVD, so if anyone's been following this thread with a Registered copy, perhaps they could contact them with this problem. Since DVD Decrypter was able to fix it, maybe AnyDVD can too?
