Unknown File Format
I've been exploring around with a game I have that contains a file/archive with the .arc extension. I have tried numerous GUI and dos based programs to extract the content of this file and I've been informed by these softwares that either it's not an .arc and it is of "unknown format". I've tried to change the extension of the file but had no success in finding the proper .***. Some of the softwares shows nothing in this file, while other shows that I have 4 folder and 17 files embedded. Nothing I have tried up to this point can extract these folders and files. I had learned that I have to find a way to find out what format this archive/file is in. Does anyone out there know enough to suggest to me how I can find out what format this .arc is in? Is there a program? A utility of some sort? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you all. |
Looking in this list http://whatis.techtarget.com/fileFor...3,sid9,00.html , the result is:

the file extension name doesn´t always mean it´s an archive where an extractor is available. you could open it with a hexeditor an check the header for some known strings like "RAR!" or "PKZip" etc... |
GLH...
Yeah...It's only for me, buddy. :) |
