A Question in need of advice

My Ps2 is Modded. It use to play my games well. Now it only plays CD-R back ups and not my DVD-R back ups. Can anyone please tell me what the problem may be?

hi

did your system ever play dvd-r backups i had this prob with a few v9-v10 ps2s i nornaly use 36 SWG / 0.2mm.wire for all points and around .5 wire for the ground/power but the v9/10 need thicker wire 30 SWG/0.25 to boot well

PS2 Version: 9
Modchip: Magic V 50K
DVD-R Media: Memorex

It played my DVD-R back ups before, but now just my CD-R back ups.
I can't even play DVD movie titles on it. I've tried cleaning my laser lens hundreds of times and still no dice!!

Sounds like the Memorex has killed it...

I took it to a repair shop and the guy thinks my mod chip burned out my BA Chip. Could this be possible if it still plays my CD-R backups? I just told him to replace my old laser with a brand new one. Hope that takes care of the problem!
