Modchip advice needed.
 

My friend is getting his PS2 modded at long last. I would think it is above a version 4, but I can't be sure. It's in good condition nevertheless.

Anyway we are getting it modded my pretty much the only modchippers in town. They are meant to be good, and they fixed up my friends PS2 who some n00b modchipper ruined.

Anyone know wtf a mars or M5 is? And from what I see, I would reccomend my friend get a messiah 2 or DMS3.

So what do you guys think?

I would get a Duo2se over any Mars or messiah chip. If he needs the extra fetures then i would get a Matrix infinity over the Dms3.

Uhhhh man, did they name their midchips different things? Like I didn't see DUO anywhere there... or was I mistaken? ?

Usually when something gets a higher number attached to its name it's because it is a newer model or upgrade. Do a search for Duo2 on these forums and youll find what you need.

Well, we can only get what that site says, since it is the only one here where i live that does modchipping.

So whatever is on that site, are my friends options.

if they do messiah 2 chips go for it ive had mine in for two years and its been spot on like tylor said (if you dont want features ) who needs features when the whole point of a mod is to play backups messiah 2 does exactley that and i would recomend 1 its never let me down with any game at all . but depends what you want as there is a dam sight more better chips out there :p

I wish I could buy some chips and do them myself. I have advanced soldering skills from college already. Best course for soldering in australia :cool:

Why dont you and then you can chip it for him you see. Shadow would prob sell you a dou chip or something like that. I have personally seen the mars 2 chip it isnt that bad but it has alot more wires and is harder to do than other consoles. I would advise a duo 2 its very good and the reliblity is superb!!!!

I would love to try, but not on a firends PS2!! thats a big no no. I don't want to be responsible if anything screws up. It would be better buying a second hand v7 or something.

F*** ME DEAD! HE LIVES IN THE SAME CITY AS ME :eek:

He even uses the same electronic formulas as I do at college and has all the high quality knowledge about soldering. Seems really professional.

Did you guys say DUO was good. He does that. I think I will get my friend to go there to get his ps2 modded. :)
